Apestoso, hediendo, maloliente? My teacher had said that hediente is odd and not used often, though she knew it. Is just "huele mal" best or are "apestoso" and "maloliente" used a lot?
Esto es apestoso. Que maloliente, Menudo lío apestoso.

Hmmm, maloliente is less strong than apestoso.
Both are ok.

In my part of the world "huele Mal" and "apestoso" are the most used.

"Huelle" is the present subjunctive of "hollar" (to tread on), and sounds quite different from "huele" (smells) - lazarus1907, May 9, 2011

Apestoso, hediente, maloliente? My teacher had said that hediente is odd and not used often.
I have never come across "hediente" (I wonder whether it exists), but "hedor" is a rather literary word for stench, akin to fetor and fetid in English. "Hediondez" is the derived noun.
