¿Qué significa "con ojos de cordero degollado"?

Hola,

he encontrado esta frase (en un texto de España) y estoy buscando el sentimiento... hay alguien que quería ayudarme?

"Me pone como un flan que me mire con ojos de cordero degollado"

(y si quiere corregir la pregunta arriba, estaré agradecida)

For cordero degollado I find this, seems to be sensible in the context.

" She looked at him with lovestruck eyes".

I wonder where the origin of this phrase came from? And how the eyes of a lamb with a slit throat reminded someone of 'the look of love'... haha.

Yes, this is true, but this would translate to Spanish:

...como si le llevaran al matadero

y nada más... entonces, ¿dónde está la conexión?

OK, thanks lorenzo9, though I think I'm still having a little trouble accepting the gruesomeness of a bled lamb as a reference to 'puppy dog eyes' or 'lovestruck eyes'...!
