I learned that hielera means refrigerator in South Texas, im chicano, would people from Mexico understand me when I say hielera when If I went to Mexico

I am used to using "hielera" for an insulated cooler.
In México we use refrigerador or refri commonly.
Lets wait for some more comments though.
