Infinitives are used to mention verbal actions, like in "I like dancing", where the gerund "dancing" is the name of the action, so "Me gusta bailar".
"Gerundios" are used to describe an progressive action that has started in the selected time frame, like in "I am singing (right now)", but never in "I am singing tomorrow", because the action has not started yet.
A good link for the infinitive is here.
The Spanish gerundio is used as a kind of adverb to modify verbs, but never as an adjective or a noun as it is in Englishlink text.
This link is helpful, too.
