Question

'Many women mutilate themselves by getting plastic surgery so they can achieve perfection' I find it confusing up to the 'by getting..' as the machine is translating it as hacerse...& I thought that meant to do/make

I like this version from the Bable translator.

Muchas mujeres mutilan a sí mismo consiguiendo la cirugía plástica así que pueden lograr perfección.

but this translation sounds like the women do the surgery themselves (it kind of sounds like that in English, too, when I read it).

Maybe this would be better.

Muchas mujeres se mutilan consiguiendo la cirugía plástica así que pueden lograr perfección.

That's my guess.

Maybe a native speaker or more advanced member can give you a better solution.

I would put..Muchas mujeres se mutilan por obtener la cirugia plastica para que puedan alcanzar la perfección ?? Don't think I'm right though...Really not confident with my Spanish :(

I can't really help with the translation, but I have a question.

What do you mean by the fact that women get "plastic surgery so they can achieve plastic surgery"?
