"Salvadora" is a word but it doesn´t have a religious connotation as the male "salvador" does. When males are called "Salavdor" it refers to Jesus the savior, but since most religions of today were started by men who unfortunately had very little regard for women and never allowed them into the creations of their religions, "Salvadora" would simply refer to a woman who saves people but without the connection with Jesus.

Taking in consideration the explanation offered by Julian, the fact of the matter is that at least in Latin America, people baptize their children with whatever name they please. Sometimes this is unfortunate, because some parent come up with some rather hideous or downright silly names.

But most churches in Latin America would have no problems at all with baptizing a girl with the name of Salvadora. Whether the actual meaning and significance of the name, as explained by Julian, is important to you, that's a different matter.
