Crashing waves?

If I'm trying to describe the sea crashing against the rocks... ~...el mar chocando contra las rocas~ is this correct? Gracias!

I think you can use at least 3 verbs for this (romper, estrellar, chocar). I would say "Las olas se estrellan contra las rocas."
