*Perdone = Discúlpeme*

Are both the words same? -or- What is the difference between these two words?

Perdone and discúlpeme are synonymous (sinónimos). Perdone, ¿Qué hora es? Discúlpeme, ¿A qué hora pasa el bus?

Although they both mean "excuse me", perdone and discúlpeme have slightly different meaning in real life, when used by real people. Perdone is sort of "sorry for bumping into you," or "pardon me (when triying to get around someone)". Discúlpeme is less formal. It is used as just a general "excuse me" or "sorry" and is generally synonomys with lo siento.

Have asked the same question myself. I was told by my Colombian friend that they are synonymous. Have found that discúlpeme is usually used when talking about people (human beings) For example: after a person breaks away from a conversation for a minute to attend to another matter, or burps. (sorry). Perdone is used when you are walking past a person and accidently bump into them, or need to walk around them.
