My Argentinean friend called me this the other day and I can't remember what it means? Does anyone know of an apt description?

Looking for a Porteño?

Groso means something like great of expentional with quality because it can also mean serious in regards to an illness or something like that.

What she said is correct.

"Este tipo es (un) groso" : This guy is amazing.

"Tiene una enfermedad grosa" : he has a very serious illness.

I think you need a porteño to help because I´m sure groso is local slang.
