What's a good term for expressing surprise, or shock? (nothing profane, though)

Working on a story with a mother from Mexico who expresses shock and surprise (and a little bit of horror) at how much weight her son has lost. Any ideas?

Some simpler ones that can be found in the dictionary:
¡Ah!
¡Oh!
¡Huy!
¡Anda!
¡Hombre!
¡Vaya!
The first three depend a lot on the intonation. The last three are probably just for mild surprise.
