Necessary article?
Soy profesoro.
Ella es estudiante.
I know that you do not need "a" or "an" as you do in English. Does this go for things like, "No soy silla (I am not a chair)," "Ustedes no son monos (you all are not monkeys)," and other things of the sort?
Thanks friends!

Is not that you don't need an article -it should not be used at all, unless you are specifying what kind of teacher you are.

"Silla" is not something that people can be (like "smart", "teacher"...), so it requires an article.
"Ustedes no son monos (you all are not monkeys)," and other things of the sort?
In plural you omit the article, like in English: "He is a monkey", "They are monkeys".
For the most part, yes. The last two sentences you wrote are correct, but you could also say no soy una silla. Also, it's "profesor", probably a typo but just wanted to let you know.
