"support worker" en español

Question

I can't find any good translations of "support worker" in my dictionaries or on the forums I use. Any ideas?

A short job description of what a support worker may do (it can vary):

.

• Support a person with disabilities with their daily routine, including: dressing, bathing, meal times, travel and mobility, money, shopping, laundry and cleaning, etc
• Support a person with disabilities to partake in hobbies, studies, holidays, events or trips
• Support will include using specialist machines for mobility and communication
• Support a person (who may be elderly or disabled) with taking medication and keeping regular doctor's appointments
• Write-up a log of the activities, meals and daily occurances of the person (or people) they support
• They may work in: supported accomodation, a special home for elderly people, someone's private residence, a nursing home
• Support Workers do not need to have a university degree but undertake regular vocational training and many have a Social Care qualification

Some ideas I've had:

• asistente personal (but this sounds like it's more administrative, no?)
• trabajador de apoyo
• trabajador de apoyo personal / social .

Any ideas would be very much welcomed! Also, if you speak English and are not from the UK, what would you call a "support worker"? (This might help find a good translation).

I'm from the US I would probably use personal assistant. As far as Spanish goes my best guess would be some variant of ayudante..

I am Canadian. Here we use the term "Personal Support Worker" or "PSW" in reference to such assistants.

When I searched the term "Personal Support Worker" I found this Wikipedia page ----> UAP. As you can see the terminology for workers of this type varies from country to country. Sadly, this is not a Wikipedia page that has a Spanish language translation.

It looks like you must first identify the English language terminology that applies in you particular country and then perhaps attempt a word for word translation to Spanish.
