A fellow once wrote to "Dear Abby" that he had always wanted to be a doctor, but if he started now it would be 6 years and he would be 50 years old before he finished the necessary studies. She responded, "And how old will you be in 6 years if you don't study to be a doctor?" I have been studying Spanish since last October, and when next October comes, I will be 70 and I am already reading Spanish. That feels good.
In my school in Texas, 70% of my students speak Español. They like it when I do. I do, too. ¡Nos vemos!
When I listen to spoken Spanish and I actually understand what is being said. It's not always 100% and full-speed native talk is still too fast, but still,

I love the fact that grammatically it just makes SO much more sense than English!! (and I am an English major)
Also, they seem to have more words to express EXACTLY what you mean to say. In English, we say "I love my car, I love my dog, I love my house, and I love you" In Spanish it's more like "me gusta mi carro, me gusta mi perrita, yo quiero mi casa, y te amo, mi amor."
Love it!!

Hola, Heather, This may sound stupid, but I love EVERYTHING!
Being able to talk to others, read Spanish stories, write to people in Spanish and to understand the Spanish written on SpanishDict!
I think for yourself, the better you get with it, the more you will love it --

Originally I just loved being able to read the label on my bags of plaster, this is what actually got me going. That and the occasional trips my wife and I took to Latin American countries. Now what I love the most about learning is this site and the people on it. I've gotten so much help over the past 20 months and made so many new friends from around the world. What's not to love?

I just like how it sounds when it is spoken softy and lovingly, like a mother speaking to her child. Tambien me gusta utilisar quelo mostrar respeto para los Latinos en mi ruta postale.
I like using it to show respect for the Latino on my postal route.
I love that this question gets asked regularly on this forum, and nobody seems to get tired of answering it. I just wish it helped me learn Spanish... ![]()
What I love about learning Spanish is listening to it and hearing a blabber language turn out to make sense. I enjoy learning new words for the most part. Also I've found myself to enjoy Latin pop and dance music with the language.
I took Latin in high school and college and I enjoy seeing the many similarities to Latin. Spanish, and Latin to an even greater extent, are much more structured languages than English. I also like seeing things in Spanish and being able to recognize them based on what I can remember from Latin.
A mi lo que me gusta más es que es una otra forma de comunicar. Una idioma nueva y extraña para explorar. (P.S. If you can't understand me, sorry, I just really like speaking spanish!) ![]()
That it is a never ending love story!
(Even for me, a native spanish speaker).
Living in México and using the language every day,I find that I learn something new each day, however great or small, and one day I will suddenly realize, hey I can speak and understand.
I honestly love everything about it.
When I first started learning Spanish, I didn't know anything about it, except the words "hola" and "amigo". But since about the first week of studying it (my freshman year of highschool), I've fallen in love with the language.
But I've lately come to realize that my love for Spanish is broader than just that one language. I love Portuguese and Italian as well, and look forward to studying these languages once I have some level of mastery of Spanish.
