Reír in preterite

Is the third person singular preterite of reír
rio, or
rió.
On WordReference, it has the accent, and here, it doesn't. O.o

Orthography has changed over the years. Nowadays it is supposed to be "rio", with the O stressed but without an accent, because there is only one syllable.
