In Batman cartoons (and I think in all Spanish Batman movies, comic books, etc.), The Joker is called "El Guasón"

The word Guasón might have been chosen because the word can be used in a mocking way - FELIZ77, Apr 29, 2011

I would say "el guáson" maybe the more proper term, but a more common term used in day-to-day casual conversation would be "payaso". It literally means clown or goofball, but I've heard payaso tossed around in various situations... friends, in cases of people who can't be taken seriously, and of course the actual profession "clowning". grin Hope this bit helps....

Dj I remember that the joker in Batman movies was someone who was more of a mocker and The word Guasón might have been chosen because the word can be used in a mocking way - FELIZ77, Apr 29, 2011
