what's the difference with revelar

What's the difference between "develar" and "revelar" in Spanish? The Word of God was "revealed" when holy man of God spoke... Should I use, la palabra de Dios fue develada or "fue revelada?"

Welcome to the forum!
I believe the verb "revelar" would fit better in this application.
Also, I did a search on the NVI for the use of "revelar". I could not find a single use of "develar". But that is only the opinion of the translators.
The dictionary will indicate the difference between the use of the two verbs.
