I think "por eso" can mean "therefore" and "that is why".

Am I correct?

Gracias

hi friends,

I think "foxluv", translated "por eso" word by word, but "bendit51jd" did not mean this use of it. so the exmple of "foxluv" es out of the question. there is a phrase combined of "por" and "eso" (por es) that has the meaning that "bendit51jd" told it himself, that is, "that 's why" , "so", 'therefore", 'because of this," for this reason", or even "hence". like in this example:

nosotros fuimos muy cansados por eso decidimos no ir.

we were very tired therfore/so/that is why we dicided not to go.

Gracias, Masquenda. Nice use of "you are right"; I think it's "tiene razón" because "Tener" is a stem-changing verb e- ie - bandit51jd, Apr 25, 2011
Tenés is correct if you're from certain parts Colombia or a few other places. - Jack-OBrien, Apr 25, 2011
You are right about the stem-changing. But "tenés" is also correct, for it is the "vos" form of the verb. (: - Azabache, Apr 25, 2011
Jack and Masquenada, Thanks for letting me know I goofed! :) I'll try and remember the next time! - bandit51jd, Apr 25, 2011
I was just so excited about recognizing "razón" and seeing it used for real!! :) - bandit51jd, Apr 25, 2011

An example for you:

Deja de preocuparte por eso, no es tu problema.

Stop worrying about that. It isn't your problem.

Try putting "por eso" in the search and see if they have more examples. Also the phrase book may show some examples.
