Una persona que + subjuntivo

Pueden Ustedes ayudarme con esta oración: 'Siempre es bueno pasar algún tiempo con una persona amable y agradable, que tenga sentido del humor, que no te haga nada mal y que te interese.' Debo usar subjuntivo? No estoy segura. Gracias.

Es una frase bastante compleja, con una subordinada dentro de otra subordinada, que además es de infinitivo y es el sujeto de la oración, lo cual complica las reglas más de lo normal. Hay razones por las que el indicativo también es posible aquí, pero en general, la estructura de la frase pide el subjuntivo. Así que la frase está perfecta tal y como está escrita, pero no es la única manera de escribirla.

The subjunctive indicator is "una persona". "una" is an indefinite article and is the keyword here. It is suggested to spend time with "a" person, but it's possible that the specific person might not exist. Of all the people in the world, you might not find a humorous person that interests you and treats you right, so the last part of the sentence could be contrary to reality and calls for the subjunctive. On the other hand, if it said "la persona", it indicates that the person in fact DOES exist and calls for the indicative. "la" is a definite article that means "the". It's good to spend time with "the person" or "the one" that you like.

Creo que sí. Se usa el subjuntivo con frases como "es bueno...".

"es bueno" has nothing to do with it. It could be followed by either the indicative or the subjunctive. The difference stems from the rest of the sentence. - samdie, Apr 24, 2011

Masquenada was right when generally saying that "es bueno (que)" is a subjuntive indicator; but it cannot be so in this example because of the complicated way the sentence is written. And just as lazarus says, there are other (easier) ways to write this. - GuitarWarrior, Apr 25, 2011
