Roger Miller song

I find that the things I learn while trying to translate English into Spanish stick better/longer, so as exercises, I have been trying to translate verses. From Roger Miller's song: That's the way it is and how it's always been; that's the way it'll always be. A little lesson or two in the art of livin'; (May I be forgiven if I'm doin' you wrong); Sing for your supper? Remember on the other end of the spoon, there's a guy workin' for a song.

I rendered (as in pulled to pieces and boiled down) this: Ésa la manera que es y siempre era; y será. Un lección poco o dos en el arte de vide (Puedo se perdonado si traté te mal); ¿Cantare por tu cena? No olvida en el otro extremo de la cuchara, hay un hombre que trabaja por una canción.

Please pull it all apart for me! muchas gracias de antemano

Did you post before you finished your question? :) - 0066c384, Apr 20, 2011
No, but I have concluded that using angle brackets to demark quoted lyrics doesn't work! - Lector_Constante, Apr 20, 2011

Here's a Roger Miller song that will be a good exercise for translating. It is one of my favorites from the musical "Big River"

Do the mornin's still come early

Are the nights not long enough

Does a tear of hesitation

Fall on everything you touch

Well, it might just be a lesson

For the hasty heart to know

Maybe leavin's not the only way to go

Maybe lay and let your feelings grow accustomed to the dark

And by mornings light, you might solve the problems of the heart

And it all might be a lesson for the hasty heart to know

Maybe leavin's not the only way to go

People reach new understandings all the time

They take a second look, maybe change their minds

People reach new understandings everyday

Tell me not to reach and Ill go away

BTW, the incorrect spelling is how the lyrics are written. :) - 0066c384, Apr 20, 2011
