Something I have found to help listening comprehension
Those of you who have seen my postings know of my struggle to improve my ability to understand spoken Spanish. I have posted dozens of Spanish language movies, audio books (which I keep calling "books on tape," thereby calling into question whether I will even live long enough to become fluent) and other methods to practice listening comprehension.
I've found another source. I have no connection with them, I receive no referral or other benefit for recommending them and I don't know if anyone else will find their program useful. With that disclaimer, I have been listening to an audio book on travel in Latin America from the people that produce "news in slow spanish" and have found it both interesting and helpful. The audio book is $25 but there are free samples. Here is the link:

One of the things I love about the book is that as he goes through the various areas of Latin America, he notes the different accents and dialects. I found the discussion of el voseo especially interesting.
There is no need for apology. We all share sites and materials we find helpful. These are great. I think you can benefit from listening to just the samples that are provided.
Not only do many of us struggle most with "listening" to Spanish, but the fact that the accent is so different from country to country and region to region doesn't help. I find it fairly easy to understand people from Mexico and many parts of South America. However, I am still struggling with the rhythm and pace of Spanish in "el caribe" which is what I need to before a planned working trip at the end of July.
