For example, one says: "Pienso en mi boda" (I am thinking about my wedding) but "Pienso de mi casa" (I am thinking about my house) Does anyone know the guidelines here?

¿Te digo lo que pienso de ti? ¡Eres un genio!

Debo de confesar que pienso en él todo el día.

Pensar de; That "de" can be replaced by "acerca de" , "respecto de" , "sobre"

Pensar en; This is simply the preposition you need to put in order to add the direct object. You can say "To have something on one's mind." for pensar en = to think about

"Pienso de mi casa." sounds a little bit weird, though. Because "pensar de" is not to think about, it's to think of. So, it would be correct if you said: "Lo que pienso de mi casa es..."or "Pienso en mi casa."
