What does "brissé" mean as in "masa brissé salada"

Have found several recipes online that call for a dough "masa brissé salada". One recipe for the actual dough says:-

Esta masa resulta ideal para utilizar como base de cualquier tipo de tartas saladas o quiche.

Have searched in online dictionaries but none offers a translation of "brissé".

I don't know the English or the Spanish word for it (maybe it's brissé wink ) but I'm guessing that your recipe is referring to the layered crumbly dough that is used to make crossaints, beef wellington, sausage rolls and pies and bakes.

"brissé" has no translation in spanish. Is a french word that means "worn away". "Masa brissé" is just the name of a kind of dough used to prepare cakes.

Thanks for responding, I couldn't accept two answers so flagged the first as they both seemed very similar. - kenwoodlad, Apr 20, 2011
