Dear Melissa,
What Lazarus means is that this site has the built in facility that you can double click on any word on the site and the Dictionary will give you its translation. Try it 
And if you are still not sure, there is also the dictionary in the top menu aswell as a translation tool.

It means "asirse (a un objetivo, idea, creencia pej)". In English: to ctuch, to cling. Example: Felipe se aferró a la idea de que sus niñas vayan al colegio privado.

Thanks, i did try that but the only translation i got was gripping and it is meant to come under integration vocab so I was a bit confused. Thanks for your help anyway
