What do these mean? (Help with cuanto and cuantas)

Cuántos vienen a comer? -Does this mean Who comes to eat, or How many come to eat, or something else?
Cuánto trabajas. -Does this mean, "How do you work" or something else?
I'm so confused. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cuánto = how much
Cuántos = how many
Now try a literal translation; it will work reasonably well.
