How do I say "rock climbing" in spanish?

(Panama, more specifically...) My Spanish teacher says it is "hacer alpinismo" but I have also heard "escalar las rocas," "escalar montañas," and "trepar las rocas." What do I use?

On my side of the woods we say "hacer escalada" to mean the sport of rock climbing.

Alpinismo and escalar montañas mean mountain climbing, which is not the same as rock climbing.
