How do you say "without any"
For example:
Although independence was not accomplished without any violence...
Aunque la independencia no se realizó sin ninguna violencia...
Is it okay/ does it sound fine to use ninguna here to emphasize "any" or should I leave out "ninguna"?

The dictionary here has the phrase: without any help -> sin ninguna ayuda, so I think it should be possible.
I don't believe that you NEED to have "ninguna" there, but if you want to put it for emphasis, I don't see any reason why you can't. "sin ninguna violencia" works as does "sin violencia." Personally, I prefer the latter, but they both convey a similar message.
Unless you want to say expressly "Sin ningún tipo de violencia"
