Ser un pulpo?

Ser un pulpo?

Hi, I was doing flashcards on a website and "ser un pulpo" came up meaning "to be pushy".

Since 'un pulpo' is an octopus so this seems a bit strange to me so I was just wondering if anyone has heard this actually used in this "to be pushy" context in spain?

Thank you.

I have heard it said that a man was "un pulpo" when he is overly friendly with the ladies. This means that he is "all hands" with a woman. Literally, he has his hands all over her, like there are eight of them and he is an octopus.

I think the saying is "ser como un pulpo" and means to be all arms. I suppose it could be used as Joyce has suggested but it could also have other connotations as well.
