A friend in Venezuela wrote me the following: "Hay unos pelones mios pero estaba nerviosa". It refers to a video of her musical performance, I think it means "I made some mistakes but I was nervous". Am I right?

Yes, you are right. In this context, "pelones" means errors or mistakes. Comes from "pelar algo" - to miss something or fail at something.
