Para mí, esa frase no tiene sentido.

Pero si fuera: Hay gente que toca la trompeta., como ya sabrás, sería correcta.

¿Puede que haya un error?

Porque aunque tuviera que estar ahí esa "la" por la gente, yo no la pondría ahí, después del que.

Your way certainly sounds better to my ears, but this is from a show. I wonder if it's just an odd construction this way?
