What is the difference between delante and adelante

I just don't understand the difference. Why does Adelante mean forward, yet !Adelante means come inside.

'!Adelante!' (punctuation supplied) means come inside.
"!Adelante!" doesn't mean "Come inside!". it means "Proceed!"/"continue forward!". In certain circumstances, those phrases can, indeed, be equivalent to '"enter"/"come inside" but it would depend on the context/circumstances.
P.S. "delante is a simple preposition meaning "before"/""in front of".

Delante de is the same that in front of. Adelante is ahead, forward.
