Voy a Peru....!!!!!

Question

Voy a estudiar en Cusco por un mes in junio. Estoy muy emocionada. Quiero quedarme más de un mes para estudiar pero no lo puedo por mi trabajo.

Voy a vivir con una familia por tres semanas en Cusco y después, voy a ir a Tambopata para estudiar en la reserva nacional.

Quiero aprender más acerca de Peru antes de ir (es obvio, ¿no?).

¿Alguien sabe unos libros o sitios de web o videos que pueden ayudarme?

Felicitaciones Luciente! I just returned from Cusco a few weeks ago. We are moving there very soon. There are many books about the history of Cusco and the Spanish conquistadors, just go to amazon and you will find all kinds of books. We made a video of our trip to Cusco if you want to see what the area looks like, go here. I´m very excited for you and can´t wait to hear about your experience there. Although I have heard from several people in the Cusco area that the language school was not the best school, I think it will be great for a month. Just a word of caution though, if you are going to be in Peru in June there could be rioting, delayed or canceled flights and you may be stuck there longer than you want if things go bad. The elections will be decided in June and it is a close race. In Peru it is quite normal during the elections to see all of this stuff. Just be prepared.

Mira, te cuento un poquito de mi experiencia en el Perú...

Me fui a Perú en 2006 con la intención de quedarme allí por rato, tal vez un par de meses, para mejorar mi Español y conocer algo de la cultura, y luego iba a viajar a Argentina y Brazil.... PERO me puse a trabajar de voluntaria en una organización sin fines de lucro (ONG), me gustó el trabajo bastante, luego conocí a mi esposo... y resulté quedándome en Perú por casi 4 años!

Ji, ji, ji, entonce te digo: "¡ten cuidado¡" De repente el país te va a gustar tanto como me gustó a mí y te vas a quedar harto tiempo!!

Hay tantas cosas para ver y experimentar en el Perú ~ espero que te vaya muy, muy bien!!

Muy bien. Estoy celoso. Viaje a Lima dos años pasado. Los gentes que me encontré fueron muy amable. La comida Peru es tan delicioso. Espero que disfrute la experiencia.
