I can't find this in my dictionaries either! :S

..

I'm not sure if I can use trastrono / dolencia here, but here are some ideas I have:

..

  1. trastorno de sueño (seems to have the most google hits!)
  2. trastorno al / de dormir
  3. desorden de sueño
  4. desorden de dormir
  5. problemas del sueño (but this is more like "sleeping problems")
  6. dificultades para dormir (I feel this is too specific - sleep disorders can refer to a whole host of problemas such as sleep apnea, not just problems sleeping)

Any ideas would be ver much appreciated as always.

Muchas gracias smile

Trastorno del sueño

I did a terminological diccionary (English-Spanish) on this subject last semester and that was the term we used.

If you're talking about the medical condition, the most accurate term would be "trastorno del sueño". "Dolencia" meaning "suffering" would be more appropriate for other conditions rather than neurological/pshychological.

If you're refering to a more informal register, "dificultades para dormir" can be a possibility.

De nada!
