Pedazos desprendidos
I think these are loose pieces, but both our dictionary and the Rae say that desprendido means "Disinterested" or "generous" (two completely disparate words in my opinion so why it means both is beyond me but anyway)......
Pedazos deprendidos de la pintura....... loose pieces (flakes) of paint.? Gracias.

Hi Jeezz!
Yes, it means loose pieces.
Prender means to grab or to hold something, and desprender means the opposite. When something is loosed, released, spreaded, we use this verb, whether pieces of paint, seeds,... or coins!

Just for kicks, it I said "Este hombre es desprendido / está desprendido..... Would that mean he is / is being generous, or disinterested and how could it be both?
Gracias.
