Siempre estaremos para prevenir

Siempre estaremos para prevenir

We are always "for" preventing? This is a song from Sesame Street. Is this an example of "estar para" meaning, estar a punto de.......

(while estar por is more like tengo ganas de, esta a favor de)

It seems more like , Siempre estamos a favor de prevenir (comiendo plomo) if anything.

Gracias.

I believe the sense of phrase is that "we are always in favor of" preventing ...for as opposed to against. - Lector_Constante, Apr 12, 2011

Hi Jeezzle!

Sometimes Sesame Street songs do not make too much sense. smile

I'd go more for:

We will always be (here) for (reminding you that you have to) preventing.

Oh, I get it. Siempre estaremos........... para prevenir. I thought it was siempre estaremos para........ prevenir. Context is important I guess. - jeezzle, Apr 12, 2011
