How might I say "In his presence" in Spanish

Since you're speaking, it doesn't matter if the pronoun is capitalized or not

En la presencia de Dios is fine for what you're wanting to say.

Just so that you'll know, in our evangelical church, we refer to God and/or His presence as tu presencia a lot of the time (during worship and/or prayers), but then others may also use su presencia. We're not nearly as 'formal' as some congregations, hopefully our usage of tu will not be taken as irreverent but more as a term of intimacy. Our worship songs are sometimes formal, sometimes informal, for example, one song we sing is Te daré lo mejor de mi vida and another is En su presencia. Just some thoughts.

I thought that the use of tú was common when addressing God directly especially in prayer, but the question was about in "his" (su) presence; not "your" (tu/su) presence. - 0074b507, Apr 12, 2011

An intereseting question that I have wondered about before. In English we customarily capitalize pronouns and words that refer to God [of the Bible].

I've never been sure how Spanish deals with that. Of special interest to me is the difference between how they refer to Jesus Christ vs God (since I am not a Trinitarian). Usually I see el Señor (the Lord) capitalized, but Spanish is heavily influenced by Catholicism (and the Trinitarian viewpoint) so I don't know if they capitalize references to Jesus because He is also considered an aspect of God.

I'm curious to see the Spanish capitalization rules in this context.

Mc the trinity is not mentioned explicitlly as a word but it is implied and understood by Christians worldwide . Matt Ch 28 v 19 ...baptising them in the name of the Fther the Son and the Holy Spirit and many other Bible references make reference to - FELIZ77, Apr 12, 2011

Hey Feliz, well I certainly wouldn't want to offend anyone posting my comments here but I do feel that scriptures such as Mark 12:29 specifically saying that God is one don't fit with the teaching of a trinity, especially when it was Jesus explaining it. - Kiwi-Girl, Apr 12, 2011
