Deseo que tuviera algunas cubos de hielo más.
Can you say, some "more" ice cubes? Is ice cubes "cubos de hielo"? It's not in the dictionary, we go with imperfect subjunctive here right - following deseo que?

Deseo que tenga ........ does that work too? I wish I have...... this doesn't work in English so I don't know if it does in English at all, but I much prefer deseo que tuviera. Gracias.

Yes, you can, but unless your culture has borrowed a lot from English, you'll sound strange. In English I would say "Ojalá tuviera más cubitos (de hielo)" or something like that.
