help with translation from 1860s text?
I am reading a very old document from the 1860s in Mexico. It is about a government agent who goes to a town and reports on the activities of the cacique (indigenous leader). There is one sentence that I am confused about. Can you help? Thanks in advance for your response!

I think that a loose translation might be:
I won´t let it go without saying that this issue has been caused in part by the indigenous leader of that town, when he started out, he leased out those lands, without any right to do so, making use of the products of his rentals, in any way that he wished, with the rest of the indians.
I know some words lol like the congnates. Maifstation. And stuff. I'm only in spanish 2 at school. If you can't find help here (which I find is hard most of the time) go to answers.yahoo.com if you aren't already familar with that site. They have more users.
