¨cuadros de fatiga¨
I am bit confused by this expression in an article about a half-marathon. Runners were suffering from ¨cuadros de fatiga.¨ Perhaps ¨fits of fatigue¨ or something similar?

I think the word cuadro can also mean "symptom" of an illness,
but I'm sure you will receive other answers to clarify your question.
...presenting symptoms of...

Correct. And now that I re-read the OP, I guess they were "...suffering from fatigue symptoms..."
or exhaustion symptoms... ![]()
As cuadro clínico can mean medical profile perhaps it's equivalent to (chronic) fatigue syndrome? Just a guess mind you ![]()
