Spanish IV finals. The teacher gave us this. I listened to the song. It sounded simple enough. But truthfully it doesn't make alot of sense. I could use some help.

Here is the song

Every mistake Every imprecision Every detail Everything under control

Every certainty Every approximation Every act (scene) Under scrutiny

Chance wears the diguise of a butterfly that succumbs to flight and shedding its effect caressed us.

You can't imagine how I would have if love had waited one second more. (caressed us)

Neither my gestures nor my own voice, nor my kisses would have been of the two today. (about them today)

Chance….(2X)

If you want to come with me to find the exact formula of reallity try to write to the others, make sure that nobody hears us go.

Every question of every answer of every person of every planet of every reflection of every comet of every desire of every star.

Very good job, I would just change two sentences:

You can't imagine how I would be if I had waited one for second the love. (Or "to love", I an not sure if that changes the sense of the sentence).

--La casualidad se puso el disfraz de una mariposa que al vuelo se entregó (y) soltando su efecto nos acarició.

Chance wears the diguise of a butterfly that on the fly succumbed (and) shedding its effect caressed us.

Many Spanish songs make no sense at all. smile

The "y" that I wrote is implied, a fictitious comma would fit there too.

Dakie do you think that Spanish songs makes any sense to the composers/writers? :)lol - FELIZ77, Apr 8, 2011
jajaja, no I don't think so, by the way... Spanish songs makes? or make?... - Dakie, Apr 8, 2011
"how would I be if" - "You cannot imagine how I would be if ..." would be more standard English. - samdie, Apr 8, 2011
It would be make since it is plural. Only third person singular takes the s. - BellaMargarita, Apr 8, 2011
Thanks Samdie and Margarita. :) - Dakie, Apr 8, 2011
Believe me, alot of english songs make no sense. I'm sure el profesor has a translation for us, can't wait to see his interpretation. - MattM, Apr 8, 2011

Not too bad, Matt, and yes, I suppose that it really is this hard and I´m afraid that I can´t help much since it´s your final but...

Wrong tenses in some of the line starting with "La casualidad se puso el disfraz...·

soltando su efecto (if you understand this line you´ll understand the song a lot better...pista: el efecto mariposa)

cómo sería yo - not translated correctly

...de los dos. - not translated correctly

Good luck smile
