Aun and Aun Asi

Are they completely interchangable, or do you use them differently. Also, can you use them the same as you would use "still" in English? For example:
Aunque el no tenia dinero, aun/ aun asi fue al teatro.
Aun/ Aun asi fue al teatro, aunque no tenia dinero.
Aun/ Aun asi estas llevando las mismas gafas?
Donde esta Michael? Aun/ Aun asi esta paseando en bicicleta. (assuming the person asking the question already knew Michael was riding his bike earlier)

There are other definitions, but:
aun = even
aun así = even so
aún = still
