...que perdió la cabeza..." - 002067fe, Apr 5, 2011
Yes! 'Perderse' means "to get lost", I think the second part could be translated (colloquially) as "no la tenía en su sitio" or "no la tenía sobre los hombros" Good sentence, Jen! :) - cogumela, Apr 6, 2011
Thanks Tom and Cogu - --Jen--, Apr 6, 2011
How many people thought that she was ice skating? I did! She has no shoes on! Hahaha! - --Mariana--, Apr 6, 2011

The thumb of her left hand is at the wrong angle, which implies she has missed out on three or four tenths.

Tiene el pulgar de la mano izquierda en posición incorrecta, lo que supone que se le han escapado tres o cuatro décimas.

Did you intend to say "3 or 4 tenths of a point" as in the Olympic scoring? - --Mariana--, Apr 6, 2011
The thumb of her right hand is at the wrong angle... I'm not sure what you mean by three or four tenths though :( sorry. - --Jen--, Apr 6, 2011
Thanks ,Jen! I'm so sorry! I was trying to refer to the fact that the 'judges' of this kind of sport are often very picky and demanding, and evaluate the gymnasts with a difference of tenths or even hundredths. - cogumela, Apr 6, 2011
Yes, Marianne, that is what I meant. - cogumela, Apr 6, 2011

I knew that lizards still dance around when they lose their heads, but this is a new one on me.

Yo sabía que los lagartos todavía se baila en cerca cuando pierden la cabeza , pero esto es nuevo para mí.

I know the idiom probably doesn't translate, but it's 11 pm, and it's the best I can do :-S I think it should probably be "Disfruta haciendo de gimnasia deportiva." but that's not remotely funny. - brentus, Apr 6, 2011
Good in English :) - FELIZ77, Apr 6, 2011
...una "auténtica" ( typo) patada ( the word order is important in this case) Well done, Brentus! :) - cogumela, Apr 6, 2011
@Brentus, also check the word kick in the dictionary, "to get a kick out of something" is there. - Deanski, Apr 6, 2011
Thanks Deanski. I saw it there, and it translates it as "Disfrutar" which simply means "to enjoy". I guess Spanish has it's own idom which is not the same. But thank you. I appreciate your help. - brentus, Apr 7, 2011
And thank you, as always, Cogumela! You help is invaluable! - brentus, Apr 7, 2011

She's gone far beyond "foot in her mouth". Her foot is her mouth!

Ella va mucho más allá de meter la pata; La saca por el otro lado ¡y su cabeza es la pata!
