What does "calies" mean? (e with accent)
The Spanish word calies (e with accent) appears untranslated several times in the English translation of Mario Vargas Llosa's novel, Feast of the Goat. In context, I was guessing it meant spies, or stooges, or henchmen, or thugs . . . but none of these meanings works very well. I was hoping for an answer here. Help?
