It sounds like I'm hearing "combinacion" when they mention her "slip". I am learning the different articles of her clothing. Do you know of a word in Spanish that sounds like "combinacion" that is used for "slip"? thanks, mj

Wow, I haven't seen that term in ages! I agree with enaguas, at least that's what I was taught as the word for slip. Women do not use slips as much today as in the 60's or even the seventies. Acabo de hablar con una amiga que dice que la forma de hoy en dia es combinacion. Hope this helps! cheese

Is "half-slip" not "enaguas"? I bumped into this and it still sounds like a bathing costume or swim dress .... 8-S

I think you can also use "prenda".

Not that I know a lot about womens underclothing but I do here these things in general conversation.

That's my excuse anyway.

Eddy, if you don´t know a lot about womens underclothing then you haven´t experienced life to its fullest. The problem with "Prenda" is that it can mean any garment for men or women - 005faa61, Apr 4, 2011

Most women in my country say el justán.

Mum used to say "falda" but clearly that refers to a skirt, generally speaking. So I am joining the "enaguas" camp, noticing it can also refer to an underskirt (which encompasses a myriad of garments!) or petticoat (antiquated)
