Please help!
En otro momento de la película, un amigo le pregunta a Ernesto lo que piensa de un libro que escribió. Ernesto es honesto, declarando las numerosas cosas que no le gusta de él. Alberto trata de hablar de Ernesto, y se horroriza cuando Ernesto dice que no le gusta. Sin embargo, Ernesto está tratando de salvar a su amigo de la humillación.

There's a whole bunch of things that don't make a lot of sense in that paragraph. Could you tell us what you were trying to say in English? I will translate it literally, just so you see what you wrote:
In another part of the film, a friend of Ernesto's asks him what he thinks of a book he wrote. Ernesto is honest, mentioning the numerous things he doesn't like about him. Alberto tries to talk about Ernesto and is horrified when Ernesto says he doesn't like [him/it?]. However, Ernesto is trying to save his friend from humilliation.

When is one thing …"Me gusta". When it's more than one…"Me gustan". It's plural, add a "-n".
I don't understand the situation. This is part of a movie, and then someone asks Ernesto what he thinks about a book. He tells the truth and mentions all the things he dislikes of it. Then Alberto tries to talk...about Ernesto? Or is it that he tries to talk with Ernesto? And then Alberto gets horrified when he hears how Ernesto don't like it ( the book, I assume. ) However, Ernesto is trying to save his friend from the humiliation.
Is that correct?
