¡"Córtala"!
I was watching a movie from Chile which a pen-pal sent me. ("Sexo con Amor", it's very funny!).
One character said to another, in response to his shouting at her: ¡Córtala! (Stop it!).
I wonder why "la" is the suffix here, instead of "lo", as in "olvídalo"/"déjalo"?
Many thanks.

We use that in Argentina, an I can't think on a reason why, but it's always used with "la" at the end, regardless of the context. It's just the way it is.
That's interesting Guillermo, I would've thought the article would match the object.
I love learning new things. I'm also assuming (I know be careful) that this word is used as a "cut it out!!!" reference. A little more forceful in nature (not aggressive but just hey cut the crap man). I like the word and the post. Way to work!! ![]()
Based on my observations, it usually has to do with the context. Maybe what ever the person was doing (like the action was a feminine word), or maybe since it was a female. Anyways, I'm sure a native will soon answer. This is my observations and two cents, hope it helps, and i'm just as eager as you to see the right answer. ![]()
