A person that I work with is leaving. I sent a text saying that "I don't like that you are leaving" the reply was " Yo se mija yo no quiero hirme pero no se hacer"... i can usually sort out the translation, but i can not find the word "hirme"... is it slang for something? I've been left confused.

It is irme. ir+me. (to leave or go away)
Yo sé, mija, yo no quiero irme pero no sé [qué] hacer"

that means 'I know I do not want selvage mija but do not do ' i do not get the 'mija' or what it means, but that is the best i could translate to.

mija is short for mi hija or is just an affectioniate term to call a female (also mijo=mi hijo) - 0074b507, Apr 4, 2011
