I found this lyric in a song. It goes "si todo es mal, no puedes mas, puedes buscarme". Its from "Toma Mi Mano" by Belanova. Help please?

Hmm - and it's even more confusing since you didn't transcribe it correctly:

Si todo esta mal y no puedes mas puedes buscarme

Notice that it is the verb 'estar' and not 'ser' If everything is bad and you can't take it any more You can look for me....

So the middle line isn't literal, it must be taken either idiomatically or with imagination?

It's simply a Spanish saying. Doesn't have a direct translation, but what people have provided it correct! - Sara-Beth, Apr 3, 2011
Ahhh okay, that makes more sense. - Felixlynx, Apr 5, 2011

If all is bad, you can't take any more, you can look for me.

Literally, anyway. smile

Puedes = 2nd person. Talking to someone else. - Goyo, Apr 3, 2011
Indeed. How did I miss that? Oh well. Thank you! - Sara-Beth, Apr 3, 2011

Si todo es mal, no puedes mas, puedes buscarme = perhaps more like: if (or when) everything is bad (hopeless), and you can't carry on any longer, you can look for me (for support, a haven, etc.) ... that's my take! wink

The first part is "If everything is bad".

The last part is, "you can look for me."

The middle part seems open to interpretation. (to me.)

I'd say, "If everything is bad and you can't go on, you can look for me." or

"If everything is bad and you can't do anything else, you can look for me.
