Incorrect translation

This is an incorrect translation of metralla, the appropriate translation is "machine gun." Shrapnel is the fragments thrownout by a granade.

It appears that you are answering a question that was posted elsewhere. Please post your aswers as "Answer" within the thread that interests you - that way your answers are not out of context.
In this case, howere however, "metralla" does indeed mean "sharpnel""shrapnel". A machine gun is "ametralladora".

I am not sure I understand what you mean, but in Spain:
metralla = shrapnel
metralleta = machine gun
