Can't claim credit for quote, Irish Rugby legend Brian O Driscoll said it at press conference. I think just to confuse journalists - aocroc, Apr 1, 2011

If it's fleshy and has seeds it's a fruit.

A tomato is both fruit and vegetable. It is a fruit because it has seeds, however it is classified as a vegetable by many people and in fact the US Supreme Court decided on May 10, 1893, declaring that the tomato is a vegetable.

It is the state fruit of Ohio, and the state vegetable of New Jersey.

You can classify it as a vegetable in the same way as you can clasify a duck as a horse. - rabbitwho, Apr 2, 2011

I always remember it because as a child I was horrified that I was eating spaghetti with fruit sauce. Go figure... - Ann-Frances, Apr 1, 2011
