That is a term used only in Venezuela (from http://etimologias.dechile.net/?gandola). I think the translation is "truck with trailer", or something like that.

"góndola" is a boat used in Venice.

Here's a fun thing to do when you can guess that the "mystery word" is a noun: Go to "google en español," put your word in the search box, and select "Imagenes." It's like having the world's best picture dictionary!

I think you are looking for góndola, which is a large bus. Check it out by typing góndola into the dictionary box at the top of the page.
